Privacy Policy

What this site collects, what it deliberately does not, and where the little it holds is kept.

1. The short version

Kipui is a documentation site for an open-source component library. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter and no advertising, so there is no profile of you for us to build. The only data that leaves your browser is the request for the page itself.

2. What we collect

  • Nothing you type. Every form on this site — the inputs in the component demos, the colour fields on the theme generator — runs entirely in your browser. What you enter is never sent anywhere.
  • Standard server logs. Our host records the ordinary details of a web request: IP address, user agent, the URL requested and a timestamp. These are kept by the host for a short period for security and troubleshooting, and we do not join them to anything else.
  • Local settings, on your device. Your theme, palette and any theme you generate are stored in your browser’s localStorage. They never reach our servers. See the cookie policy for the exact keys.

3. What we do not do

There is no analytics script on this site, no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, and no third-party cookie. We do not sell, rent or share personal data, because we do not hold any to share. Responses are served with Permissions-Policy: interest-cohort=(), so the site opts out of interest-based cohorting as well.

4. Who else is involved

  • Vercel hosts and serves the site, and therefore handles the request logs described above under its own privacy policy.
  • Fonts are self-hosted. The typefaces are downloaded at build time and served from this domain, so loading a page makes no request to a font CDN and leaks no IP address to one.
  • Links out are just links. GitHub, npm and similar sites are linked, not embedded. Once you follow a link, that site’s own policy applies. We send only our origin as the referrer, never the full path.

5. Your rights

Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR or comparable law applies, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. In practice the only personal data connected to you here sits in the host’s request logs and in your own browser storage — the latter you can clear yourself at any time, and clearing it deletes it completely. For anything else, write to us and we will answer within 30 days.

6. Children

This site is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the new text appears here with a new date at the top of the page. Material changes will also be noted in the repository’s changelog rather than applied quietly.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request under section 5, can be raised at github.com/joypaul3592/kipui/issues. For anything you would rather not post in public, open an issue asking for a private channel and we will provide one.
